Dan Varenka is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Rochester, NY. Combining his DIY upbringing and a commercial screen-printing practice, his work usually takes the form of books and zines. He likes trying to figure out the relationship between found images and contemporary narratives.

He received his MFA from Visual Studies Workshop in 2012 and has been teaching and assisting other artists in various capacities since then. Before attending VSW he received his BA in Art Education from Nazareth College of Rochester and taught K-12,  introducing kids to the joys of mixing colors, making paper, and Dadaism.

He can often be found in the kitchen baking and making soup.
